Captain's Day Season Opener
Race Night // Sat 28th March 2020 // Kilmacolm Golf Club // 7 for 7.30pm
Under Starters Orders!
Our Club Captains Andy Farmer and Jackie Sayers as part of Kilmacolm Golf Club's season opener event are hosting a Race Night for members and their friends and family whereby any funds raised will go towards the Captain's chosen charities.
This website should contain everything you need to know about the night. The main thing is we need you to buy tickets if you are coming and you can do that further down the page or by clicking the button below.
Everything You Need To Know
There are six races taking place on the night.
Five normal races then the finale with the auction race.
There are 8 horses running in each race and each race DVD will be picked at random on the night.
Each horse will have an owner and the owner of the winning horse will receive a spot prize on the night.
Betting tickets, at £1 each will be on sale for each race.
50% of the total bets on each race will be distributed to all the winning tickets, with the other 50% going to the fundraiser.
The auction sees owners bidding for horses with the winning horse owner receiving a large cash prize.
It's that simple!
Yes we know, but we're selling tickets for two reasons. Firstly, to make sure we raise enough to pay for the race night itself. Secondly we need to control numbers, we're limited to 80 in the lounge, so we only have 80 tickets to sell.
Since we also have 40 horses to sell we have two types of ticket on offer.
A Gold ticket at £6 includes your own horse in one of the first 5 races. If it wins then even if you didn't have a wager on it you still get a prize!
If you just want to buy a ticket with no horse, or all the gold tickets have been sold, you can buy a silver ticket at £5.
Just tell us the name of each guest so we have a register on the night, then fill in your card details and press the button and BOOM, you are on the list!
After the auction race we will have a short prize raffle.
We've already started to gather prizes and have some excellent stuff on offer. Our ticket sellers will be doing the rounds on the night.
There will be a couple of other games like stand up bingo and nearest to the bottle going on too.
It should be a good wee night and what you spend on the horses will be more than made up for by what you'll save using the ridiculously cheap bar at the club!
We'll put on a wee bit music after it's all over.
Race night is Sat March 28th.
We can only have 80 in the lounge. Children are most welcome (no need to buy a ticket for them).
This is a "tote". There are no odds and as such it isn't "gambling" so children can attend.
The race night itself starts at 8pm. Doors open 7pm and we ask if you try and be there for 7:30pm.
Some snack type hot food will be provided.
Kilmacolm Golf Club is at Porterfield Road, Kilmacolm, PA13 4PD. There is plenty of parking but leave the car at home. Drinks are much cheapness!!
